cheesecake aint what it use to be.

I often wonder what if our words don’t lend to the issues facing our kids today. I just read a book about a child going through serious abuse that was intended for a very young audience. When I finished I felt exhausted, depressed and downright angry with the world. I know the book was about facing those issues head on and letting kids know we see it and we have responsibility towards ending those awful things. I don’t like the after taste though which leads me too question my goals yet again as a kids author. It’s a bit like cheesecake you make from a box it just isn’t the good stuff.
